I wrote this song about 40 years ago during the conflict in Beirut, Lebanon.  I had to change the one line that referred to it and that said Vietnam was "20 years ago."  I was in a very elevated state at the time and was thinking about John Lennon when it came to me.  It felt like I was maybe channeling him.  And maybe that's just wishful thinking but it's definitely something I think he might have said.
